Connect the drive again, Windows disk management asks to intialize drive, click initialize, fails with IO error. Order a replacement, replacement gets delivered 3 days later in torn up packaging held together with rubber bands. Decided not ok, disconnect the drive and repackaged it. I check gnome disks, 2590+ bad sectors, drive health reduced to 99 from 100, still says ok. Try transferring files from old hard disk (HGST, 1TB, 3 years old, zero bad sectors), after about 100GB transfer, rsync slows down and begins to complain. ![]() ![]() Do a brief research and found that this alone might not make it a bad drive, the number may not even go up. Connect it to desktop to try transferring some files, right off the bat gnome disks says 1700+ bad sectors, however drive health is ok. Ordered this drive on Amazon sale, first one delivered within a day. ![]()
